Sitting in a hotel in Arkansas – by tomorrow evening we will be home. Although honestly, home is a relative term.
How exciting it is, that every mile we drive the landscape begins to look more and more familiar. The low flat plans gradually climb into rolling hills, and trees begin to reconquer the scene.
It is funny how many people are in Charlotte right now, we are not. In the breakfast room every morning the news displays beautiful views of the Charlotte skyline. Forget some important convention, are they trying to make me homesick?
Older sister has the whole week off because of the democratic convention.
Whatever your political ideology, there are definitely perks to hosting it in Charlotte.
And when we get home, me and older sister are heading downtown for a good round of “spot the famous person.” Here’s the lineup-
Media specialist/Journalist/secret service: 1 point
Famous congressman or senator: 2 points
Celebrity, first lady, or otherwise famous munchkin: 3 points
President: 10 points.
The Plan: Reserve a table for two at a shmancy restuarant. We’ll probably be awkward and
order tea, or split some dessert. Come one, spotting the president is cool, but it ain’t worth
breaking the bank.
Results to come.
