I had the unexpected opportunity to sneak into my best friend’s family vacation this weekend. It was very VERY last minute. HELLO to two peaceful days in the mountains of Virginia. Me and Mere shared a loft. Due to a crazy voice teacher and a strained vocal cord, Mere couldn’t talk much. So we’d stay up late into the night sipping apple cider side by side. I’d read books and she’d write poetry. It was lovely.
I have a bad habit of finding the most obnoxious glasses available to drink my water in.
It is such a blessing to have a friend who accepts you as you are, never judges, and understands the beauty of just sitting around together and doing absolutely nothing. Seriously. We have the best times.
Pumpkin patch time. Mere taught me about pumpkin picking. You don’t find the pumpkin; the pumpkin finds you. These lil babies were calling to me.
Ooh. Did I mention that we managed to hit the peak of autumn colors?
And there were some middle of the road adventures. Of course. Adventure is out there.
Our loft. Note: we went to the dollar store to buy a puzzle and saw these fellows. One impulsive friendship purchase later, we have matching stuffed dinosaurs.
Now I get to sneak into my best friend’s dorm for two days before going home. The moral of the story? Never turn down an unexpected adventure.
