10 quirky gifts only a book lover would appreciate:

Recently I ran across a buzzfeed article about 24 insanely clever gifts for book lovers. Some of them were, well, a bit over the top. Others were hilarious and useful. I was inspired to compile a list of my favorite bookish themed gifts from around the Internet. Via pinterest, etsy, and modcloth. I thought you all might enjoy:
Notebook shoes. Or if you want to go all out, you can find notebook totes, socks, and even a notebook lined t-shirt at out of print clothing.
Library themed iPhone cases. Or, if you have a favorite book, you can get a case that looks like the cover here.
Typewriter necklace.
Because you know, books always smell SO delicious.
If you’ve got lots of books, you may want some unique book holders to organize them. There are plenty of unique ideas. This one comes with the added benefit of the world’s most literate goldfish.
You want your friend to read your wonderful new book, but you struggle with letting her borrow it because you have already lost so many precious volumes to borrowers. Cue the personal library kit!
Late night reading has never looked cooler.
Shelving is always an issue. That is until floating book shelves came along. Seriously, these are too great.
The struggle: you wanna lie in bed, but holding your book towards the ceiling is too much work. WOW.
If you are a true book lover, you may want to wear your favorite words around town. Now there are scarves that allow you to do just that. Or head to out of print clothing to find a t-shirt or hoodie made with your favorite book cover.
And that is it. Ten funky gifts for book lovers. All completely unnecessary, but they made me laugh anyway.

  1. I love (and definitely want) all of these things! The candle is so cute – even though when I saw it my first thought was “Peanut butter?”. I wonder if they have a “new book” scent!

  2. Oooooh my gosh!! This is too awesome! My favorites were the bookstore candle, personal library kit, and that scarf. I seriously need to get a scarf like that. =) Oh, I actually have a typewriter necklace that looks a lot like that one!

  3. I want ALL THE GIFTS. Yes, please. Especially the personal library kit.
I'm a bit concerned about the goldfish because my books always seem to topple over, but it's still a neat idea!

  4. I love these!! ❤ and I actually have three floating bookshelves...:3 one of my friends ordered them online for me for Christmas and I just about died right there amid the wrapping paper.

  5. Oooh! I want those glasses so bad. Reading in bed comfortably is so difficult. XD As a matter of fact, I want everything on this list, it's all so gorgeous and amazing! You have great taste, Susanna.

  6. These all look so awesome, and my bookish heart wants them so badly. Nobody really borrows books from me, but I would totally use that personal library kit just for myself for fun. It would probably be awesome for tracking books and when I read them, too. The floating shelves are pretty awesome, too. They kind of look like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland! And that scarf. Please give me that scarf now!!! 🙂

  7. I wish I had an iPhone, just so I could have that case! Amazing. Those glasses are genius! Seriously, we should all just be issued a pair. And I really, really want some floating shelves. I love the way they look, and I could put them absolutely everywhere! Love this post 🙂

  8. Oooh! I want the shoes and the home library kit so much! I love bookish gear. My phone case actually has a passage from Wuthering Heights (one of my top three favorite books) written on it. I love it so much!

  9. Ah yes. I cannot give you that scarf now. However, maybe once I get a 100 followers or something, I could do a giveaway. I think one or two of these items would make fantastic prizes. Don't you?

  10. Oh yes. I used to drool over all sorts of iPhone cases (mostly bookish ones) before I had an iPhone. Case before phone, that is my philosophy : ) Thankfully my uncle just gave me his old iPhone 4, so now I am in the market for reals.

    I am glad you enjoyed!
